Donald John Solomon passed away February 19, 2018, at the age of 91. He was born April 9, 1926, to Mary Ermina Bryson and Frank Solomon, in Centerville, UT. He graduated from Davis High School and attended the University of Utah after service in the U.S. Army Air Force. He married his beautiful eternal companion, Sadie Belle Harris, on August 19, 1949, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Don enjoyed the field of aviation since early childhood. He enjoyed flying. He was an avid RC enthusiast. He loved traveling on business and with family on vacations. He raised a beautiful garden until the age of 90. He loved sharing the bounty with his neighbors. He was a voracious reader.
Don held a student pilot license. He retired from HAFB after 36 years of service. His most precious accomplishment was 68+ years of marriage to his sweetheart and passing on his wisdom, life stories and wit to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Sadie Belle; his daughter-in-law, Jann (Hales) Solomon; daughter, Debra (Ron) Lacey; and daughter, Denise (Robert) Bray; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his son, Donald Dewey Solomon; his parents; two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 2 pm at Aaron's Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, Utah. Viewings will be held Friday, February 23, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm and on Saturday, from 1 to 1:45 pm prior to the service at the mortuary. Interment Ogden City Cemetery.
