Leo Edward “Eddie” Morin
March 1, 1947 ~ July 8, 2019
Leo grew up in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, where he enjoyed the beaches and chasing hermit crabs. He joined the U.S. Air Force at age 17, severing as a ballistic and cruise missile technician and retiring as a Master Sergeant after 20 years. In the Air Force he spent a majority of his career at Hill Air Force Base and made Ogden his home. Leo married Bette Adams and they had two daughters; they were later divorced. After his military retirement, Leo fullfilled one of his career goals by becoming a police officer. He served for 20 years as an officer for Weber State, the Town of Uinta, and Weber County Sheriff’s Office. Additionally, he was an armed security officer for IHC at McKay-Dee Hospital for 20 years.
Leo loved learning about and visiting historical areas and ghost towns in Utah. He followed the Pony Express trail every year and also regularly attended annual Golden Spike celebrations. The Uinta mountains were his favorite place, and he made annual trips there for more than 40-years.
In lieu of a funeral, a memorial service in the Uinta Mountains will be held sometime this fall (date to be determined).
Leo leaves behind his two daughters, Melinda (Jamie) Bennion and Angela Morin, and his beloved grandson Luke.
