- About Us
Nicholas (Nick) Ryan Wilkinson, 41, passed far too soon on April 12, 2018. Nick was born to Gary (Casey) Wilkinson and Barbara S. Cummings on March 20, 1977.
Nick was his dad’s pride and joy. His father Casey taught Nick how to drive at a very young age. Nick would drive on the back roads and on fishing trips, so it was not a surprise when Nick chose to become a Semi driver. Nick’s passion for driving not only provided a living but he had a tremendous ability to teach others the gift of trucking.
Nick had great passion for the outdoors. He especially loved to go fishing. As a young boy his parents spent almost every weekend on a lake somewhere. Nick was able to buy his dream boat and trailer where he enjoyed taking anyone and everyone that wanted to go. With Nick it was always an adventure no matter what you were doing. Nick loved hard work and was the happiest when he was working hard.
Nick could be counted on and depended on always. Whether you needed simple advice, an empathetic ear, a shoulder to lean on; a hearty laugh, a big bear hug, jokester or a teaser always trying to get a rise out of you or saying something shocking to watch your reaction, he was your man; ready, steadfast, willing and great fun.
Nick was good to his employers, and they were good to Nick– their care and support is very much appreciated by all of us.
Nick took all the roles in his life to heart and he strove to honor, support, and most importantly, protect his family. He was at his happiest when he was surrounded by his family. Nick battled depression so intensely after the passing of his father. He truly did the best he could with the huge hole that was left by his dad’s passing. Family was the anchor that defined and shaped his life.
3 years ago, Nick was able to participate in caring for his mom Barbara that had been diagnosed with Cancer. He took great care of her as she departed.
The light of Nick’s life was the birth of his son, Braxton. He loved him so very much and was so very proud of the young man he was becoming.
Nick is survived by his son: His sweet cheeks undocumented wife: Jennifer, and her three children: Brandon (Cletus), Justin and Baylee. His step son: Zach, step daughter: Alyssa. His fur-babies Harley, Dixie, Roxy and Ghost. His brother: John (Shellie), Sisters: Natalie, Angie (Brad), several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and some very dear friends.
We will be having a celebration of Nick’s life on May 14th, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Old Day Barn located at 1166 Pioneer Rd, Draper, UT 84020. Memorial contributions may be made at any Wells Fargo in the care of Braxton Wilkinson.
Dad, I love you and I always will. Love, Braxton
Nick, you are rooted deep inside our souls, a part of us forever in the deepest part of our hearts there you are. Nick in life I LOVED YOU dearly, in death, I love you still. In my heart you hold a place no one can ever fill.
Goodbyes are not forever
Goodbyes are not the end
They simply mean I will miss you, until we meet again. Love forever, Jenn
If you need help, ask for it. Can it be scary to take that step? No doubt. But you are not alone. Share your struggles, fears and joys, be present and patient in each other’s journeys. And when love seems to fail – because sometimes love is not enough, love more, pray more, talk more, learn more.
