With broken hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Andrew Jestino Guzman, who left us far too soon on 04/04/2026 at the age of 45. The world feels a little dimmer without him, but the love he gave so freely will continue to shine in all of us.
Andrew Jestino Guzman was born on 10/01/1980 in Layton,Utah to Deann (Nicholas) Rivas and father Ismael (Nancy) Perez. From the very beginning, he carried a light that drew people in—a kindness, a warmth, and a spirit that made everyone feel seen, loved, and valued. He grew up in Layton where he attended school and made many friends.
Throughout his life, Andrew Guzman was known for his beautiful qualities such as compassion, love, strength and humor. Whether it was through a simple smile, a comforting word, or the way he showed up when it mattered most, he had a way of making life feel a little softer and a lot more meaningful.
More than anything, Andrew Guzman lived for the moments that truly mattered—his children, grandbabies and family, and the memories created with them. He found joy in fishing, hunting, spending time with grandkids and joking around with others and those moments will forever be treasured.
Above all, Andrew Guzman was the heart of his family. He loved deeply and unconditionally, and that love will never fade. He is survived by his wonderful children Mersadie Guzman (Ignacio Tolentino), Jestino Guzman (Hailey Stark), Isaiah Guzman and Briella Guzman. Grandbabies Kamaiyah Tolentino, Leahmoni Tolentino, Ezra Guzman, Alina Guzman and another grandson on the way Zyaire Tolentino. Sisters Jessica (Sergio) Martinez, Priscilla Rivas. Brothers Patrick (Yadira) Perez, Eldridge Perez, Antoney (Mariana) Perez, Ismael Jr (Tania) Perez, Jose Perez. Uncles Tony Rivas, Louie Guzman. Aunts Linda Molina and many nieces and nephews. Our uncle Delloyed Rivas who raised him to be the man he was to all of his kids. Each of them carries a piece of his heart and will continue to honor his life through love, strength, and remembrance.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother Sadie Guzman Erebia, grandfather Ambrose Erebia, great grandmother Ramona Guzman, aunts Paula Erebia, Antonette Erebia Sanchez, uncle Ambrose Jr. Erebia, Cousins Star Rea and Jacob Erebia.
There are no words that can fully capture the impact Andrew Guzman had or the emptiness left behind. But if love alone could have kept him here, he would have lived forever. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his love will guide us always—in quiet moments, in shared memories, and in the way we carry him forward every day.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Andrew Guzman Memorial account at America First Credit Union, as we come together to support one another during this incredibly difficult time.
Andrew Guzman will be Forever loved, Forever missed and Forever in our hearts.
“A devoted parent and adoring grandparent, who’s love knew no bounds”
