Blaine B. Brunker

August 6, 1928 — October 3, 2009

Blaine Brunker, 81, passed away at home Saturday, October 3, 2009 with his family at his side. He was born August 6, 1928 in Firth, Idaho to Henry and Nannie King Brunker.

He was married to Florence Gamboni, they later divorced and then married Ruth Allen, they divorced, he then married Nancy Dew who passed away January 2004.

Blaine was raised and attended school in Ogden, Utah. He joined the army during World War II and served in the European Theater. After the army, he worked for Swift & Company, retiring after twenty years. He then worked another twenty years at the Ogden Defense Depot prior to retirement.

During his working years, Blaine participated in the Rodeo Circuit, calf roping, team roping, and steer wrestling with his son, Bob.

Later in life, he owned and operated the 3 Bar B and the B&B stables and arena in Corrine, Utah, where he taught many people as well as his children and grandchildren the art of Western Showmanship. Blaine is survived by his three children; Robert "Bob" (Marianne) Brunker, Betty (Dave) Davis, and Janice (Ralph) Ritchie, six grandchildren; Jodie Rutigliano, Brian Brunker, Larry and David Lusk, Jeremy and Brein Davis, and eighteen grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nancy, and two brothers, Marlin and Rex.

Many thanks to Alpine Home care and Hospice for their tender and loving care and support not only to Blaine, but to his family.

A family and friend gathering to celebrate Blaine's life will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Aarons Mortuary & Crematory, 1600 Washington Blvd. Ogden, UT.

Cremation is under the direction of Aaron's Mortuary.
