Bonnie Jean Tuft Chesnik, age 77, passed away on December 4, 2025, in Washington Terrace, Utah after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Oakland, California on August 30, 1948, to George M. Thomas and Marie B. Thomas.
In August of 1949, the family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. Mom graduated from South High School in 1966. In January of 1970, she married her high school sweetheart, Dean Tuft (later divorced). They shared two children, Chad & Brandie.
In December of 1999, Mom married her soul mate, Ron Chesnik.
Hawaii held a special place in Mom’s heart where she could always be found on a beach in the sun. It was her happy place where she found solace and peace.
Mom was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved her Savior deeply.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ron; and daughter, Brandie Tuft Moody. She is survived by her son, Chad Tuft; her cherished and beloved grandchildren: Caitlin (Lolly) Tuft, Christian Moody, Mercedes Moody, and Mason Moody; her four sisters: Peggy Dunn, Judy Ahlers, Kathy Thomas, and Debbie (Robbie Huddleston); and many nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank the staff at Stonehenge for the loving care and kindness they showed my Mother.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and the joy, love and laughter she brought to those around her.
