When I met Brenda, I had just arrived in Utah after leaving a terrible marriage. Becoming an HT at Wide was the first job I'd had in 12 years and was the first time I'd really been around other people outside my immediate family. Brenda welcomed me aboard and accepted me, warts and all, and she made me feel like I belonged. She was fiercely loyal and protective, and if she said she loves you, then you knew she LOVED you - because Brenda never said anything she didn't mean. You never had to wonder what Brenda thought of you, because she'd say it right to your face. For the entire 11 years I worked at Wide, I was single. When I announced I was getting married and moving to Georgia, many people thought I was crazy. But Brenda seemed genuinely happy for me. I cannot imagine this earth without her fiesty attitude, her hugs, or her laugh. To her family, take comfort in the love she had for you and in the knowledge that she is no longer in pain. Oh, how you have been blessed - how we all have been blessed - to know and love Brenda Whitaker!

I want to add one thing - and it should have been the first thing I said: to be around Brenda, you knew exactly what was important to her, and that was her family. She spoke of you all constantly, and with such enthusiasm, humor, and above all - LOVE. Even though she had to spend much of her time somewhere else, her heart was with you. And that certainly will not change. God bless.
