Bruce Newton, of Boise, Idaho, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, due to complications of cancer.

Bruce was born on October 14, 1955 in Ogden, Utah. The son of Bruce Otis Newton Sr. and Emma Jo Avitt Foulger.

Bruce graduate from Ogden High School and held a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Development from Weber State University.

Bruce married his sweetheart, Marilyn Jean Malan on November 14, 1980, in Ogden, Utah. Together, they shared countless moments and experiences that enriched his and his families’ lives.

He enjoyed an esteemed career spanning 38 years at Fred Meyer. His dedication and work ethic made him a respected figure in his workplace, where he not only contributed professionally but also formed lasting friendships.

Bruce was a man of many interests and passions. His spirit for adventure was evident in his love for traveling, exploring new places, and creating memories that would last a lifetime. Whether he was embarking on exhilarating ATV rides, honing his skills as a pilot, or indulging in his hobbies of firearms and coin collecting, Bruce embraced life with enthusiasm and zest, always encouraging those around him to do the same.

Bruce cherished the great outdoors, often finding peace and solace in nature’s embrace. His adventurous heart resonated with anyone who had the pleasure of sharing those moments with him. He had a remarkable ability to appreciate the simple beauty in life, and his warmth and kindness were felt deeply by those lucky to have known him. 

Bruce Newton’s presence will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will continue to inspire and live on in the memories cherished by family and friends.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Marilyn Newton; children, Eric (Brittany) Newton, Lisa Newton, Erin (Hayden) Newton; grandchildren; Parker, Sarah, Jackson, Emma; and Maggie the indifferent cat.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park, Center at the Park,1920 N. Records Way, Meridian, ID 83642.

A Celebration of Life will also be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 12 to 2 p.m. with a Time of Sharing at 2:00 p.m. at Aaron’s Mortuary, 888 South Main St., Brigham City, UT 84302.
