Carolyn Marshall

April 18, 1947 — June 8, 2025

Ogden

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carolyn Marshall, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life on June 8th, 2025, at the age of 78.

Mom was the embodiment of kindness, generosity, and quiet strength. She lived her life putting others first, always ready to give anything she had to someone in need—without hesitation or expectation. Her selflessness was the foundation of the love she gave so freely to her family, friends, and even strangers who quickly became friends.

She was the best listener and loved getting all the tea about what was going on in our lives. Whether it was a small annoyance or a major life decision, Mom always listened intently, responded thoughtfully, and somehow always managed to take your side—even if you were being completely ridiculous. She was our biggest cheerleader, our most loyal advocate, and our constant source of support.

Family was at the center of her world. She loved unconditionally and unapologetically, embracing all of our unique quirks and imperfections with open arms. She deeply cherished every moment spent with her loved ones—whether it was a quiet gathering or a lively celebration. Her home was a place of comfort, warmth, and welcome, where everyone felt seen and heard.

A hard-working and fiercely independent woman, Mom faced life with resilience and courage. She wore many hats throughout her life, always with strength and purpose. She was a devoted mother, a caring sister, a proud and loving grandmother, and a true friend to all who knew her.

She was known for always offering candy, drinks, or food to everyone who walked through her door—including the home medical equipment team and hospice caregivers. No one ever left her presence without feeling cared for, nourished, and appreciated. Even as she struggled herself, she would give you her last dollar or her last bite—because that’s just who she was.

Though she was rarely on time, she always showed up when it mattered most. Her sense of humor could light up even the darkest days, and her laughter was as healing as her hugs.

Carolyn is survived by her four children: Colleen Simpson, Tamera (Brent) Schrock, Shane (Amie) Marshall, and Aimee Marshall; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many dear friends and extended family members who will carry her memory forward with love.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you perform a simple act of kindness in her honor—a gesture that would reflect the heart of the woman we will always remember.
