Carolyn Porter

December 23, 1937 — March 18, 2018

Carolyn Starr Porter, 80, of Ogden Utah passed away on March 18, 2018 after a battle with congestive heart failure and cancer.  She was born on December 23, 1937 in Provo, Utah,  the only child born to John Lamar Starr and Doris Louise Singleton.

She grew up in Ogden Utah, and graduated from Ogden High School.

She married Robert Porter on November 10, 1956 in Elko, Nevada. They were married for 55 years before Roberts passing in 2011.

She was a homemaker and mother going back to work in her 60’s as a clerical assistant to her daughter.

She was a strong willed woman with a quick wit about her.  She had a passion for her gardening and loved a project of any sort.  She enjoyed her weekly shopping trips, camping with her family, and spending time with her grandsons.  She loved traveling to Jackson Hole, California, McCall Idaho, and the Oregon Coast.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra (Robert) Barnes, her son, Kenneth Porter, and her two grandsons, Zachary and Skyeler. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 11:00 am – Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Ogden, Utah. Family & friends may meet with the family  30 minutes prior to the service at the cemetery.
