Charles Henry Turnage

June 9, 1943 — March 4, 2022

Rest In Peace

Charles “Charlie” Turnage
6/9/1943 to 3/4/2022

Charlie is preceded in death by his mother, Ollie Mae Adams, Father Henry Albert Turnage and son Charles “Bradley” Turnage.

He married the love of his life, Margaret Elaine Godwin and were married 59 wonderful years. They had 3 sons: Bradley, James and Robert (wife Robin Shoemaker Turnage), 4 grandchildren: Cody Ray Turnage, Shelby Elaine Turnage, Jordan Alexander Shoemaker and Cheyenne Autumn Turnage McLelland (husband Todd McLelland). He also had 3 great grandchildren Elijah Turnage, Cohen Shoemaker and Tyler McLelland.

Charlie was a man with a heat of gold and spirit to match. He would help anyone in need and never expect anything in return. He was also a very spiritual man who always said the BEST prayers. When he spoke he always had a smile on his face and a sense of humor that would make everyone laugh.

Charlie loved his grandkids with all of his heart. He had a special relationship with his granddaughter Cheyenne from the day she was born. She could make him smile and laugh when no one else could. Right up to the end he would listen closely to every word she said and would respond as though she was the only person in the room. They we’re truly best friends and it was amazing to see their relationship bloom over the years.

Charlie loved his family so very much and he will be missed like no other. The prayers he shard right up to the end of his life will forever be in the hearts and minds of all his family and friends.

And with all of this being said we say goodbye to the best husband and father, son of God and friend of many. -AMEN.
