Claire Garvin

Claire Garvin loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away on December 10, 2017.

Claire was born on May 22, 1935 in Sioux City, Iowa to James and Minni Hewitt. She was the middle of six siblings. She grew up loving to learn about her Native American heritage.

 In 1954 she married Leo F. Garvin and together they had five children. Claire just loved the snow; she couldn't wait for the first snow fall. She would just sit and watch the snow-flakes fall.

 She loved everyone and she is loved by all. 

Claire is survived in death by her children:  Claire Thomas, Pattie Matthews (David), Tim (Corliss) Garvin, Chris Garvin (Wendy Pentz); grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and a brother, Howard Hewitt. 

She is preceded in death by both her parents; siblings; her husband, Leo . Garvin and her son, James J. Garvin; grandson, David Vern Smith, Jr. 

Small services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 3 pm at 2390 W 4900 S with a light luncheon served.
