Mom graduated from high school in the small town of Nashua, Montana and went on to work as a nurse’s aide in Glasgow, Montana. She enjoyed playing basketball in high school.
Mom and Dad were married alongside her sister, Ruth and dad’s brother, Ralph, in a double ceremony in Glasgow Montana and they also honeymooned together.
Mom and Dad were sealed for time and all eternity in the Ogden Utah Temple on February 3, 2024. The volunteers at the temple were thrilled to meet them and hear a shortened version of their love story.
Mom enjoyed Leg Wrestling with her grandkids and much to their surprise, she could beat them. She also loved to crochet for her friends and family. She hand-made many afghans and doilies, blessing dresses, baby clothes and doll clothes that will be cherished forever. She also enjoyed sewing Raggedy Ann and Andy Dolls, doll clothes and painting ceramics.
Mom had many jobs while being a devoted wife and a loving mother. She worked with a beekeeper collecting honey, selling tacos at a taco stand in Brigham City and worked several years as a manager at GNC in Logan. Mom and Dad became property managers for hotel’s, apartment complexes, and storage businesses, pre and post-retirement.
She loved and was proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. One thing you never wanted to do was to talk badly or be mean to one of her children, grandchildren or great grandchildren, she was a fierce protector of the whole lot of them.
She was an avid collector of Beanie Babies, Matchbox Cars, spoons, plates, dolls, refrigerator magnets, tiny bottles, coins and stamps, and proudly displayed them.
Mom was adored by the care staff at Cogir of Lotus Park Assisted Living Center, where she exchanged “I love you’s” with them regularly. The family extends a warm, heartfelt thank you to the care staff, nurses, doctors and hospice staff that took such great care of our mom.
Mom will be deeply missed by our dad, Lyle, married for over 74 years, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, in-laws, and her siblings, nieces and nephews. All of whom she loved dearly. We will miss her quirky sense of humor, her hand gestures and beautiful smile!
