Craig Charles Blakeley, born July 31, 1950, in Ogden, Utah to Jack Charles Blakeley and Norene Weaver Blakeley, passed away from heart failure on February 10, 2025.
Craig served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War 1969-1972, he was awarded 3 Bronze Star Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal: Expert (Rifle). He worked for the Civil Service for 30+ years retiring from Tooele Army Depot. He met Carla Whitehouse there at work in 1985.
He loved going elk hunting with his best friends, Rick Green and Gordon Anderson, every October at Strawberry Reservoir, until his health wouldn’t let him go anymore. He was a fishing fool, loved riding his four-wheeler, and driving his Polaris Ranger side by side, mostly to Wal-Mart. He nicknamed it “The Beast”.
Horseplay was his middle name, he thought it was funny to honk the horn at Carla every time she would go out to open and close the gates, grabbed her wallet, hid her water jug, anything he could think of to irritate her. Crocodile Dundee was his favorite movie. He was Dallas Cowboys #1 fan. He would turn down invites on Thanksgiving so he could stay home and watch them.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Brent and Jeff; and brother-in-law, Paul Farr.
Craig is survived by his wife, Carla; sisters, Deanna Farr and Cindy Atkinson (Bob); dogs, Cinnamon and Mookie; chickens: Freckles, Pepper, Queenie, and Rosie; and rabbits, Coconut and Whiskers.
