Craig Edward Voigt

Craig E Voigt, 55, passed away at his home in West Valley City, UT, on Thursday, July 6, 2017, leaving his family and friends way too soon.  He was born on February 22, 1962 in Joliet, Illinois to Gale E Voigt and Loretta J Voigt.
The family moved from Joliet to Kaysville, UT in August 1972, then moved to Syracuse, UT in 1977. Craig attended Kaysville Elementary, Kaysville Junior High, North Davis Junior High and Clearfield High School-Class of 1980. While in Junior High School, Craig was given the nickname “Fudge” for the love of the school’s fudge and would trade his lunch items for it.
Craig loved his sisters Jodi and Renee very much and the three were very close.  He turned to older sister, Jodi, for nurturing and caring and guarded over his younger sister Renee. He gave Renee the nickname “Nump” using that name most of the time instead of her given name.
In 1987, Craig followed Jodi and her family to Bonney Lake, WA with Renee following them in 1989 so all three could be together again.  In November 1987 he married Tynna Brock and they brought three adorable bundles of joy into the world; Blisse in 1988, Colten in 1990, and Megan in 1992. They lived in Tacoma, WA until 1992 when they moved to Roy, UT.  Craig and Tynna later divorced April 1999.
Craig met Alisha two and a half years ago and they became engaged. In January 2016 they were blessed with a baby boy, Byson.
Craig drove long haul semi-trucks his entire adult life.  He drove for many companies and owned his own fleet at one time.
Football was his favorite sport, he even played it when he was younger.  He watched it every weekend cheering on his favorite teams-Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears.
Craig’s father shared his interest of hunting with Craig in his younger years. Craig shared this with his son, Colten. He only hunted deer; he never wanted to shoot an elk because he said they were “too pretty”.
He loved life and was always the life of the party, jovial, fun loving and hilarious.  Cooking was one of his pastimes and he was very good at it. He was known for making the best omelets.
