Daniel John Mata received his angel wings on May 12, 2025.
Daniel Mata was born May 12, 1998, to Paul Mata and Brenda Lucero in Ogden, Utah.
Daniel was a beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, and cousin. He enjoyed the outdoors with his family, recording music, drawing, gambling, and journaling with the love of PENS! Daniel always had a big smile on his face and always knew how to make people laugh; he had a big heart. Daniel was the life of the party! He also had a passion for pets, mostly for his own (Lilly).
Daniel is survived by his brothers and sisters: Johnny Lucero, Annjelica Mata (Alex Garcia), Paul (Ashely) Mata, Joseph Mata, Nellie Mata (his twin), and Manuel Miranda; great grandparents, Joe Mata and Juanita Mata; aunt and uncle, Lisa and Danny Archuleta; and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Daniel and Nellie Lucero; grandma, Diane Lucero; aunts, Gina Barela and Patricia Lucero (Nina); sister-in-law, Sylviana Mata; cousin, Priscilla Archuleta; aunt, Judy Lucero; uncle, Jimmy Lucero, and cousin, Joseph Barela.
Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden. Following the celebration, a dinner will be held at Weber County Fair Grounds, Golden Spike Arena, 1000 N. 1200 W., Ogden for family and friends to attend.
