David, 74 years of age, passed away on April 25, 2024, at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah.
David was born to Lewis Ray and Elaine Rundquist Child, the oldest of five children. David grew up in Roy, Utah, graduating from Roy High School. He then attended Weber State College where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
He was called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to the Southwest Indian Mission. He spent his mission on the Reservation, serving the Navajo Nation and speaking their language.
On November 17, 1972, he married Jacqueline Sue Peterson in the Salt Lake Temple. They shared 51 years of marriage together.
After graduation, David started his accounting career with his father, and spent his entire career working in the family accounting firm, LRC and Company, located in Ogden, Utah.
As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he served in many callings, including Bishop and Stake Presidencies.
He was much-loved by his family and was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, always putting his family first. He had a quick wit and a mild manner. He never missed an opportunity to support his family and their activities. (Dad, you didn’t need to come to tryouts.)
Among his personal interests, he loved reading best. Second only to his love of reading was his love for music, and he was often found lost in his headphones. He enjoyed challenging himself by memorizing poetry and expressed his creativity through drawing and painting.
David is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; son, Cameron (Cicely); daughter, Ashlee (Chelsea); and four grandsons: Bentley, Rafe, Breck, and Oliver. He is also survived by his sisters, Christine Caldwell (Ted) and Lisa Holmes (Scott); and brothers, Lon (Patti) and Michael (Kristine). He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to thank the staff at McKay-Dee Hospital ICU and Intermountain Hospice for their tender and compassionate care.
