David “Sage” Crawford, a man whose heart was as expansive as the galaxy he loved to study, passed away in the arms of his loving wife, Heidi, and surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Brigham City, Utah—just twelve days shy of his 60th birthday.

Born in Glendora, California, to Gene Arthur Crawford and Gladys Charlene Ball, Dave lived a life defined by genuine compassion and an unwavering work ethic. A dedicated employee at Autoliv, he was known for his grit; famously returning to work just three months after a quadruple bypass, he never let a challenge keep him down for long.

On January 7, 2017, Dave married the love of his life, Heidi, in a vibrant Las Vegas ceremony officiated by an Elvis impersonator. It was a day that perfectly captured his spirit: joyful, a bit unconventional, and full of love.

Dave was previously married to Kelly Poulsen and Karen Burnett whose continuing friendship he always cherished and valued.

Dave was a "Force" in the lives of his family. He was a Star Wars enthusiast and a Star Trek fan who found wisdom in science fiction and peace in the study of rocks, crystals, and energy work. Whether he was playing Star Wars Battlefront on his PlayStation or diving into a YouTube rabbit hole of random facts, Dave was a lifelong learner with a stubborn streak that was far outweighed by his acceptance of others.

To those who knew him, Dave was the ultimate safe harbor. He gave "exceptional hugs" that could make any storm feel quiet. He was a non-judgmental listener who offered advice that was sometimes comically blunt and other times deeply heartfelt. Above all, he was a supportive father figure who never ended a conversations without the reminder: “I love you, be smart and be safe.”

He is survived by his brother Perry (Denise) Crawford; Wife Heidi; Sons Kyle (Shanda) & Robby, step-kids Savannah (Jess) Moser, Gabriel (Naomi) Cassett, and Madison (Zak) Paine. Grandkids: Paizlee, RilyaMae, Roxyanna, Stathem, Tyven, Wessley, Willow, Violet, Vivian, Casspian, and Dominic. His best friend & partner in crime David Coates. His beloved Mother-in -Law Patricia Cochrane and Father-In-Law Larry Whitlock and his sister-in-laws Cami, April, Victoria, Amanda and Meghan. He welcomed his in-laws and step-children and grandchildren not just as family, but as his own, loving them all deeply and unconditionally. He is also survived by his precious fur babies, TyDy and Gypsy, whom he adored and considered the center of his world.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Crawford.

May the Force be with him, always.
