Delilah Tomasita Gutierrez

March 15, 1951 - December 29, 2021

I was born on March 15, 1951 in Moreno, New Mexico, to Dioncio and Eloisa Gutierrez. I was the 12th child of fourteen, the youngest of the girls. I moved to Utah at age 9, working in the fields with my siblings. My education was within the Ogden School District, graduating from Ben Lomond, class of 1970. GO SCOTS!!

I was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, Tia, and friend. I was employed with Cutler’s Laboratories for 10 years. I later attended the School of Barbering and began my career at Hill Air Force Base BX barbershop, later retiring from ProCuts after 27 years.

I enjoyed camping, cooking, watching Western movies, shenanigans (chisme) with the Gutierrez women, and continuing the tradition of family gatherings started by my mom. I was blessed to have many friends throughout my life. My favorite colors are red and black. I never went anywhere without my red lipstick on.

I am survived by my daughter, Danielle Gutierrez-Waltz (Mark) and son, Augustin Granado (Shelly Valdez), my precious grandkids: AdriAnna, Raymond, Damien (Esmeralda) and Jocelyn, and my great- grandchildren: Jayden, Sienna, and Oliver, sister, Della, and brothers, Juan, Joe, Herman, and Jimmie.

I was described as a strong independent, beautiful woman who was always there with love and guidance through ups and downs, the joyous celebrations, and the challenging moments of life.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the hospice nurses at Symbii: Emily, Ryleigh, Bailey, Terrie, Steven, and Angelique.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation in memory of Delilah Gutierrez . You can make donations at MichaelJFox.org.

Tia-I love you and will forever be grateful for every moment we spent together. You will be missed - Yoli
