Our loving Husband, Dad, and Grandad left this world unexpectedly Saturday morning.

Dennis was born on July 11, 1955 to Don and Trudy Godfrey in Glendale, California. He spent

the majority of his childhood growing up in sunny Southern California. He relocated to Ogden

during his Sophomore year of high school. Dennis graduated from Ogden High School. Dennis

loved Ogden and would call “O Town” home for the remainder of his life.

Dennis won the lottery when he met and fell in love with a local Ogden girl named Cindy.

Dennis often described Cindy has his soulmate and the two shared 45 years of marriage

together, creating two beloved sons: Tyler and Zane, along the way.

Dennis loved both his sons so much and especially enjoyed coaching the boy’s various sports

teams in their younger years. Many summers were spent taking Ty, Zane, and friends on

  camping and fishing trips.

Dennis worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 10 years, until an accident left him with a

broken back, changing the course of his life. Dennis decided to enroll at Weber State University

where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Archeology. He absolutely loved Archeology and

thought finding artifacts along the Wasatch Front was the coolest thing.

Dennis had a true talent for golf and some of his happiest times were spent on the golf course

with his Dad (Don) and brother Kelly. The 3 together were a comedic act, always making others

  laugh.

Dennis was blessed with 3 grandkids: Luke, Alexa, and Eva. They were his true pride and joy and

he bragged about them any chance he would get. The kiddos love their Grandad and will miss

  him tremendously.

Dennis is survived by his wife Cindy, sons Tyler (Brandie), Zane, 3 grandchildren, brother Kelly

(Sharon), and many extended family and friends that he loved very much.
