- Dixie Lee McCollum, 73 recent resident of Washington Terrace, died peacefully at home with family by her side. She was born July 7, 1936 in Fremont, Nebraska, to Edgar and Nellie Sweem Stacy.

She married James Lee McCollum March 31, 1961 in Concord, California. Dixie served with the nursing field and retired at an early age to raise her three children, while her husband served his country. The two of them retired in Port Orchard, Washington.

She was a member of the National Scottish Society for many years. Enjoying her Scottish heritage she became and served as the clan MacCallum Commissioner for the Pacific Northwest, representing her clan for the Highland games.

Dixie enjoyed life to the fullest but mostly her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she will be missed.

She is survived by son Jay McCollum, daughters; Rexan McCollum Long, Rachel McCollum (Bobby) Keith, all of Washington Terrace, brother Jerry Stacy of Tuscan, AZ., seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, husband and eight siblings.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Veterans Memorial National Cemetery, 17111 So. Camp Williams Road, Riverton, Utah. A viewing and Rosary will be held from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. prior to the services at Aaron's Mortuary & Crematory, 1600 Washington Blvd. Ogden, Utah.
