Donna Mae White

Ogden

July 12, 1929 — March 23, 2023

Donna Mae White, 93, of Ogden, Utah, went to be with the Lord on March 23rd, 2023. She was born on July 12, 1929, to Pearl Sylvia Saxton and Alton Andrus in Pocatello, Idaho. She spent her younger years working with her Aunt Serlena at Howard’s café. She graduated from North Gem High School in Bancroft, Idaho. Recently, Donna enjoyed the experience of her great-great-granddaughter, Chloe Carver, competing in a basketball game at North Gem!

Donna moved to Ogden, Utah, where she married the love of her life Don E. White. They were blessed with seven children. She retired from St. Benedict’s Hospital. She had an exceptional work ethic. Her loving and compassionate personality was evident and felt by many patients and staff. People who met Donna knew she was special. She always treated others with grace and compassion. Even on her last day here on earth, she was touching others with her genuine love and kindness.

In addition to her abounding kindness, Donna had a surprisingly sharp mind. She recently memorized and recited the capitals of the United States, The Gettysburg Address and The Beatitudes! Her keen sense of humor was enjoyed by many. She loved basketball and was an avid Utah Jazz fan. Many times, she gathered with family to share food and watch the games. Don and Donna shared wonderful times watching tennis and figure skating together. Her family was important to her, and she always made each person feel loved and cared for. She was so thoughtful and knew the right things to say and do to make us feel special and supported. Each one of us knew we were her favorite!

Donna was a member of Canyon Road Assembly of God where she attended over 50 years. She had a remarkable knowledge of the Holy Bible and lived her life to reflect Jesus. She went to Bible Studies and made many dear, close friends. Although we know Donna is rejoicing in Heaven and experiencing full joy, she will be sorely missed by many.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband Don E. White, and siblings Dell Andrus; Darlene “Carla” Duncombe; Dwaine Andrus and Geraldine “Pudgy” Porter. She is survived by her brother Bruce Martin and her children Karma White; Deborah Swanson (James); Terry White (Mike); Laura Miles (Mark); Jennifer Rosson (Mark); Vicki Bullock (Mark); and Ronda Carver (Jeff). She lived to see five generations: 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the amazing hospice staff at Caregiver’s Support. They cared for Donna with deep compassion and kindness. This includes a special appreciation to Angie and Julie. We would also like to thank Dr. Khodakov for the excellent treatment and quality of life his care provided her.

Words cannot express the love and tender care her daughters, Deborah Swanson and Ronda Carver, provided to our beloved mom/grandma. For years, they attended to mom’s needs, took her to numerous appointments, made meals, and showed selfless love. We will be forever grateful!

The family will be holding a private Celebration of Life. If you would like to send a card, share a special memory, or send condolences, please mail to: Donna White Family, 2496 E. 6500 S, Uintah, UT 84403.
