Edmund Laya Carino Jr. passed away on February 13, 2022 of complications from Covid-19. He was born July 22, 1966 in Sampaloc, Manila, Philippines to parents Edmund Carino and Alicia Carino.
He graduated from Bolingbrook High School with the class of 1984, where he was a member of the AFJROTC. He was raised as a member of the Catholic Church and was very patriotic, serving in the US Air Force for eight years as an avionic technician. He was stationed in Colorado, Utah, the Republic of Korea, and Louisiana. While stationed at Hill Air Force Base, he met the love of his life, Paula. They married in 1988 and had six amazing children. He worked for Lofthouse/ Treehouse Foods for the past 18 years as a maintenance mechanic. In his freetime, he was a talented DJ who loved producing music and making mixes, and he was also very skilled with computers. He loved his whole family, and he especially loved being a grandfather.
He is survived by his wife: Paula Carino; his children: Andrew Carino, Stephanie Burkhardsmeier (Sebastian, Sophia), James Carino, Logan Carino, and Hayley Carino; siblings, nieces, and nephews: Roselyn Damocles (Oral, Chris, Charissa), Amora Carino, Diane Carino, Harold Carino (Lovella, Tiana, Isabelle, Sam, Regina), Julie Birenbaum (Katrina, Peyton); aunts and uncles: Fe (Ireneo) Jacob and Lito (Edna) Laya. He has many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents: Edmund S. Carino and Alicia Laya Carino; his brother-in-law: Josh Birenbaum; and his son: Jonathan Carino.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the West Point City Cemetery (3200 West 300 North, West Point City, UT).
