Elgie Ray Mills III

Elgie Ray Mills III, U.S Navy, and resident of Clearfield, UT, died unexpectedly on November 9, 2021 at the age of 78.

Elgie was born in San Francisco, CA, on May 5,1943 to Elgie Ray Mills Jr. and Shirley Mary Weigant. He married the love of his life, Dixie Swift, on July 28, 1963 where they later had three children together.

Elgie was a member of the Catholic community during childhood and became a member of the LDS community with his wife. He assisted with the astronomy class at the University and was a Certified Ham Radio Operator for First Responder's. He enjoyed many things in life but some of his favorites were fishing, sail boating, wood working, rc/airplane builds, guns, camping, and computer programming. His greatest accomplishments in life were his children and family.

Elgie is survived by his son Shawn Mills (Amy) Syracuse, UT; (Son-in-Law) Leroy Otis; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, and 4 sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son (Elgie Ray Mills IV), daughter (Karma Louise Mills Otis), 2 brothers, 1 sister and 2 grandchildren.

Services will be held on November 18, 2021 at 1:00 pm.at the LDS Church located at 1895 South Main St, Clearfield, UT 84015
