Epifanio Roybal

November 11, 1923 — August 4, 2009

Eppie Roybal was born the eldest of 9 children to Eloisa (Lybia) and Eloy Roybal of Ojo Sarco, New Mexico. His birth on November 11, 1923 would be the beginning of a life filled with selfless service that would change the lives of all those who knew him. He was a very unselfish person who gave freely to those in need. Throughout his lifetime, he donated 50 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross. He always lent a caring hand, and helped his neighbors by watering their lawns. His warm smile brightened everyone he met. He was a dedicated Catholic. Eppie was a very talented artist. He loved nature and being outdoors, as well as watching and caring for animals. This is where the inspiration for his paintings came from. After 37 years of unwavering service, Eppie retired from H.A.F.B. as a wheel and brake mechanical inspector. Eppie spent many happy years under the care of his loving daughter Judy Roybal. He lived with Judy and her family until his death on August 4, 2009. He is survived by his children: Theodore Roger (Linda) Roybal, Teresa (David) Champouillion, and Judy (Scott Richards) Roybal, siblings: Antonio (Viola) Roybal, Fabiola Calkins, Corrine (Willie Vigil) Lucero, Sally (Lupe) Maestas, Richard (Cleo) Roybal, Louie Roybal, Rose PÆ'geÆ'gna, 9 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Hilda, two sisters: Amelia and Lena, his son Eppie Jr., and his brother in law A¡A§PeanutsA¡A.
