Erik Ian Bradbury

Erik Bradbury, 38, died on May 31, 2019 in Layton, Utah.  Erik Bradbury was born on the 17th of August 1980 in Atlanta, Georgia.  He earned his Associates Degree from Georgia State University before following his dreams of moving west to Utah. Erik continued to pursue education and read every book he could get his hands on and studied languages as a hobby.  Erik enjoyed hiking and riding his motorcycle.  He loved the outdoors and was an avid animal lover.  Erik volunteered at a local aviary because he had a passion for birds and found solace and friendship in companion birds.

He is survived by his mother and father, Patricia and Herbert Bradbury; as well as his brother and sister, Paul Bradbury and Rachel Boyd.

Most of my memories from my earlier years have Erik in them. He was always the first to stand up for me or be by my side when I needed a friend. He was the first to let me know it was ok that I didnt fit into a bubble and there was nothing wrong with it. "You have a very interesting taste in music, it shows who you are, always hold on to that!". Huge words to a 16year old.
We lost touch over the past few years but no amount of time will ever erase the memories from my mind. The world was lucky to have you and you will always be missed. I love you!

Erik was so full of energy, a fun person to be with. I enjoyed going hiking and mountain biking with him and the group. You will be missed Erik

Erik, it was a pleasure to have met you, and have you be a part of the meetup group. I'm sad to hear of your passing and with your family my sincere condolences. I know a lot of people in Utah will miss you dearly and you'll be kept close to their hearts.

I was friends with Erik through a small circle from a hiking group here in Salt Lake City ... since early summer last year. When I bought my motorcycle (first one ever) Erik invited me on a group ride. It was my third time out on this bike and this cat took me through Emigration and then East Canyons to some town called Morgan. From there we took I84 (80+ plus miles an hour!!) to Park City for lunch. I did this ride again a few times that summer because Erik showed it to me. We also did quite a few hikes and some mountain biking and camping and restaurant meetups. I'm really sad about this but I know Erik is in a better place and a better state of mind now. We're going to miss you man :(
