Floyd Villiard

February 3, 1937 — March 1, 2018

Floyd “Squeek” Villiard passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on March 1st, 2018 after a short battle with lung cancer.  He was born on February 3rd, 1937 in Weigor, WI to Robert and Zelena Villiard.  Floyd grew up in Exeland, WI, enlisting in the US Air Force in 1954 where he made a career of military service until retiring in 1975.  Upon retiring, he continued his education completing a degree in Automotive Engineering Technology from Weber State College, returning to the Civil Service at Hill AFB until 1992.  He was a proud Viet Nam veteran, serving in Da Nang Viet Nam in 1968/69, and Native American, as a member of the Wisconsin Ojibwa tribe.

Floyd married Judy Brainerd of Bruce, WI on May 15, 1959.  They began their military adventure at Rantoul AFB, Il, taking them to posts around much of the United States, including Patrick AFB, FL in support of the Apollo moon missions, and overseas to Clark AFB in the Philippines.  His final post was at Hill AFB, UT, where they ultimately retired, alternating between their home in Layton and their summer cabin on Blueberry Lake in Hayward, WI.

He is survived by wife Judy, daughter Brenda (grandson Zak Kennedy), sons Jeff (wife Kim, step-grandson Josh) and Bruce (Kay), as well as siblings Betty Herron and Isabelle Moudry.  He was preceded in death by his brother Albert Villiard and sister Mary Lou Mleczko.  Burial will be in the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI; a celebration of his life will be held at their Blueberry Lake home later in the summer.

A big thank you to Hearts of Hospice for their support and guidance for the past two months and especially to Nurse Kylie.

Arrangements by Aaron’s Mortuary, Ogden UT.
