Gary Wayne Evans

January 9, 1968 — February 28, 2019

Gary W. Evans (51) passed away February 28, 2019 at the University of Utah  Medical Center.  He was born January 9, 1968 to Don and Cheryl Evans.  He married the love of his life, Teresa Garcia, on May18, 1997. 

He is survived by his wife, Teresa; parents, Don and Cheryl; brother, Scott (Karen), grandfather, Kirby Evans; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Gary is  preceded in death by his grandparents, Del and Gertrude Henderson; grandmother, Barbaretta Evans; mother-in-law, Sylvia Garcia; uncles:  Larry Henderson, Jerry Ward, Jerry Myers, John Browning and aunt, Mary Ann Walker.

He was a 1987 graduate of Layton High School .   In high school   he started working at the Davis Drive In.  He was a member of the Layton Hills Baptist Church where he also worked part time.  He loved playing sports:  football, baseball, basketball, track and volleyball.  He was also on a bowling team at Davis Lanes.  Later he coached youth bowling.

Gary proudly served in the Air Force Reserve as an F-16 aircraft mechanic at Hill AFB, Utah.  Later he worked at Exxon Chemical at Freeport Center.  He was there for 22 years.  He graduated ITT in 2016 with an Associate of Science Degree.  He was a supervisor at L3 Technologies, Inc.  He really enjoyed the people and the job.  His and Teresa's favorite vacation spots were Florida (Orlando and the beaches of the Destin).

Gary always had a smile and kind word for everyone.  You could call on him for help at anytime and he would be right there.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Services will be held March 16, 2019 at Aaron's Mortuary, 1050 S State Street, Clearfield, Utah.  Greeting of Friends and Family at 2 pm; Memorial Service at 3 pm and  a Celebration of Life immediately following.
