Gregg Scott Lyons, 66, of Brigham City, Utah, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on October 16, 2025.
Gregg was born on April 21, 1959, in Jerome, Idaho, to Earl. D. Lyons and Betty Scott Lyons. He was raised in Burley, Idaho, where he grew up alongside his siblings and enjoyed rural life in Burley. He served an honorable full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the San Diego South Mission, where he developed a deep love for the people, the work, and the Spanish language. Following his mission, he attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho.
Eventually Gregg met Geniel Geddes, with whom he shared four children: Derrick, Tyson, Lacy, and Logan. They made their home in Logan, Utah, and later in Preston, Idaho. Gregg was deeply involved in youth programs and dedicated much of his time mentoring and supporting the young men in his community.
On December 31, 2008, Gregg married Erin Dalton at the American West Heritage Center in Logan, Utah and later sealed in the Brigham City temple on January 13, 2024. Together, they shared 17 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and faith.
Gregg loved the gospel and proudly shared his testimony throughout his life. He also had a deep love for his country and was fiercely patriotic. His kindness, sense of humor and unwavering faith left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Erin Lyons; his children Derrick (Laura), Tyson (Sierra), Lacy (Clint), and Logan (Tiffany); 12 grandchildren, with one on the way; and siblings Sandra Ward, Thomas Lyons, Rebecca Pincock, and Teresa Birth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl D. Lyons and Betty Jean Scott Lyons, and his sister, Toni Lee.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 24, at the Kotter Canyon Ward, 620 North 300 East, Brigham City, Utah. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, October 23, 6pm – 8pm at Aaron’s Mortuary, 888 S. Main St., Brigham City, and on Friday, October 24, from 9:30-10:30am at the church. Interment will follow the funeral services at the Brigham City Cemetery. Flowers may be sent to Aaron’s Mortuary.
The family expresses their deep gratitude to all who have touched Gregg’s life in meaningful ways. His laughter, wisdom, and love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
