Harry Allen Abbott

OGDEN-Harry Allen Abbott, 89, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2009. He was born September 24, 1919 in Murray, Utah, the son of Mary Victoria Gustaveson and stepfather Allen E. Goodman.

He married Marchia (Betty) Elizabeth Bishop on June 19, 1940, in Salt Lake City, she passed away February 21, 2007.

Harry was a very kind, caring, unselfish person who will be missed greatly by all who knew him. He was the office manager for Wasatch Distributing for many years. He was an accountant for Flying J, and worked for the Bank of Utah until he retired, at age 80.

He loved his family and sports. He coached the young men's basketball for the LDS Church.

Harry is survived by three sons; Kent of Ogden, UT., Steven (Karen) of Farmington, UT. Mike (Kathie) of Ogden, UT. daughter Marchia (Gene) Ross of Ogden, UT., also survived by eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and one brother and one sister.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 11:00a.m., family and friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Gardens, 3401 So. Highland Dr. Salt Lake City, UT.

The family wishes to thank Legacy House of Ogden, and Hospice for Utah for their loving care.
