Harry Anthony Mancino, age 77, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on March 8, 2026.
Harry was born in Denver, Colorado in 1948 to Placido and Kathryn “Kay” Mancino. He spent much of his early life in Manchester, New Hampshire, where he formed many lifelong memories and friendships.
In March of 1978, Harry became a paraplegic following an accident. Despite this life-changing event, he never allowed it to slow him down or define who he was. From being the first paraplegic skier to pushing the St. George marathon and playing competitive wheelchair tennis and basketball; he lived with determination, resilience, and a spirit that inspired those around him.
Harry was an avid outdoorsman and a true lover of nature. He especially enjoyed camping and fishing and had a deep appreciation for birds. A passionate bird enthusiast, he was a longtime member of the Audubon Society. Being outdoors brought him peace and happiness.
Known for his intelligence, quick wit, and heart of gold, Harry had a charismatic personality that drew people to him. He made friends easily and left lasting impressions wherever he went. Above all, he loved his family and friends deeply.
He is survived by his children, Walter Marks; Sabrina Kalechman and her husband Abe; and Darren Mancino. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Chelsea, Kristopher, Alysha, Anthony, Jagger, Logan, and Gianna, and his great-grandchildren, Lane, Cole, and Easton.
Harry is also survived by his brothers, Michael Mancino, Dominic Mancino and his wife Diane; his nephews, Christopher Mancino (Maricela) and Michael Mancino (Kate); and his nieces, Dawn Hill (Dwight) and Melody Cybulski (Mike).
He was preceded in death by his parents and by the love of his life, Charlene.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Mt. Ogden Rehab for their loving care- including Chandra, Kimberlyn, Becky, Donae, Hannah and Riley. Also, his aide Tatiana who was by his side at a prior facility as well as at McKay Dee. He gave you all a run for your money, but you saw through that gruff exterior and saw the amazing man he was.
“Papacino,” as he was affectionately called by his family, will be returned to nature by his children. A day of remembrance will be held in New Hampshire at a future date.
The family asks that any donations be made to your local animal shelter, national park preservation, or wildlife conservation organizations.
Until we meet again — “Love you baby, love you baby!”
