James E. Buckmaster, born October 1, 1935, in Akron, Ohio, passed away on June 3, 2025. A devoted father to June, Dru, Timothy, Julia, Todd, and Lori, and a loving widower to his beloved wife, Kathleen. Jim is survived by his sister Dorothy, brother Walt, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jim leaves behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and kindness that touched the lives of many relatives and friends.
A skilled electrician by trade, Jim dedicated his long career to his craft, bringing light to those around him. Beyond his profession, he embraced life with a deep love for camping, fishing, hunting, airplanes, road trips, and all things related to the Civil War. His passion for history and adventure was reflected in every story he told and every journey he embarked upon.
Having spent most of his life in California before settling in Preston, Idaho, Jim was most proud of his family, his faithful dog Sandy, and the expansive property he cherished. His warm heart, joyful nature, and strong, loving hands will be profoundly missed. His memory, along with the silly songs that brought smiles to his loved ones, will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Jim was a man of resilience, humor, gentleness, and love, and his impact on those around him will endure for generations.
He will be deeply missed.
