Janell Jones Lewis

Janell Jones Lewis, Wife, Mother, and Nonna passed away suddenly at Ogden Regional Medical Center, Monday morning, August 18, 2025, at the age of 67. She was born on August 27, 1957, to Lorraine and Harold Jones and grew up in Pleasant View, Utah. She married Russell Richard Lewis on May 2, 1980, in the Ogden Utah Temple. They have resided in Pleasant View, Logan, Clearfield, Kaysville, and Taylor.

She is the mother of Patrick (Cammen), Blair (Jennifer), Alexander, JaLaine, and Jacob. She is the Nonna of seven grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Russell Richard Lewis; and siblings: Arlene Strong, Nayla Davis, Lorna Guffey, Kefford Jones, and Ryan Jones. Janell was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Lorraine Jones; along with siblings, Gerald Jones and Diane Shaw.

As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Janell served in many callings where she had a great love of her Savior Jesus Christ and her God. This was exemplified throughout her life. She served in Primary as President, teacher, music leader, Cub Scout leader, Ward Organist, Gospel Doctrine Teacher, and most recently as Ward Self Reliance Specialist, and as a Service Missionary at Camp Liberty.

She had a great talent and love of music that blessed the lives of many. Janell valued hard work all her life and had many jobs. She graduated from Stevens-Henager College with an accounting degree, which led to jobs for Adamson Engineering and Nutritional Service Manager for Davis Schools where she retired after sixteen years.

You could always find her in her yard and garden enjoying the fruits of her labors where she filled her jars with love.

Janell and Russell served two years together in the Pennsylvania Philadelphia Mission where they worked hard and served the Lord. Janell and Russell have five children that were taught the importance of education and time spent together. She enjoyed the outdoors with her family camping, fishing, and hiking. She also loved to play box games with her children and grandchildren. She always went out of her way for them.

The viewing will be held on Friday August 22, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Taylor 2nd Ward, located at 2200 S. 4300 W., Taylor, Utah. Funeral Services will be held Saturday August 23, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Taylor 2nd Ward with a viewing prior to the services from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment follows the services at Ben Lomond Cemetery, located at 526 E. 2850 N., North Ogden, Utah where she will be laid next to her parents.
