Janene Gandee

September 8, 1938 — June 15, 2023

Janene L. Thomas passed away on 15 June 2023.  She was born 8 September 1938 in Pocatello, Idaho a daughter of Vern R. and Margaret E. Grieve Thomas.  She graduated from Twin Falls Idaho High School and attended Utah State University where she was affiliated with the CHI OMEGA sorority.  She had three beautiful daughters, two with our Dad, Gary Kapp and one with her second husband. She retired from Hill Air Force Base and received many awards for her dedicated service to the United States Air Force.  Her work ethic was beyond amazing and she instilled this trait to her daughters.  Mom had an amazing character. She never gave up on anything. She taught us how to be strong, independent, tough as nails women through her example.  We so admire who she was, and what she stood for. She taught us to stand up for what we believe in, love one another and never let anyone push you around.  She made our Birthdays, Christmas, Mother’s Day and Valentine's Day seem like magic. We got to relive our childhood every year, like we never had to grow up.  Thank you for always being there and helping us get through this life. In lieu of flowers; take a smoke break, read a book and drink a Fountain Coke.  Lastly, she would want you to take a joyride in your favorite car, PEDAL TO THE METAL!

She is survived by her beautiful and cherished daughters, Kelly J. Grover (Greg) and Kristi Holley (Chad), her beloved grandsons: Rick D. Boman, Brandon Berrett (Tracy), Jon Holley (Racheal), Jared Holley (Carmen) her only granddaughter, Britany McFarland; twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson due in October. She’s also survived by her special sister, Pauline Thomas; her forever friends, Margaret and ET. She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Kimberly J. McFarland; granddaughter- in- law, Ericka Boman (Rick); her parents and her beloved brother, Ike Thomas (Pauline).

Special thanks to Julie Lee, IHC Hospice. God sent you to us at this difficult time, your love, kindness, sense of humor, compassion and pigeons got my Mom and I through this.  Thank you, MY FRIEND!
