Janet Bowyer (Wakefield)

December 14, 1955 — June 19, 2022

Janet Bowyer (Wakefield) passed away on 19 June 2022 after three days in hospice care. She was born in Ogden, Utah, in 1955 to Leland A. and Eris (Parker) Wakefield. She graduated from Bonneville High School in 1974. She was sealed to Dennis Bowyer in the Ogden, Utah Temple in 1999. Janet had a rough life as a special needs person. She endured a life of trials, but kept her
light shining bright, despite the many unscrupulous people who willingly took advantage of her. But it’s all behind her now; they can no longer hurt her. In the end, love and truth won out, as we were able to reconnect and rekindle our love for each other while caring for her. She is now safe in the arms of our Savior and has been received into a state of peace, where, with our parents and
older sister, she can rest from all her troubles and from care and sorrow.

She loved to attend church every week and give hugs to all she met. She also relished the opportunity to participate in the Special Needs Mutual program. Her last wish was to visit with her eternal companion Dennis. We are profoundly grateful for the miracle our Heavenly Father provided, in selfless
servant Kevin Gardner, who brought this wish to fruition in Janet’s final hours.
Huge hugs and love to all who honestly loved Janet, visited with her, hugged her, listened patiently to her, encouraged her, and stood beside her through life’s challenges. Special thanks and love to Janet’s Ministering Sister Janean Bowthorp, and to Special Needs Mutual Leaders Marci and Gordon Hill. Words cannot convey our gratitude for your selfless sacrifice of time to
sit with Janet for many hours, and comfort her during her final weeks.

Janet was preceded in death by our parents, and her older sister Carol Ann. She is survived by her eternal companion (Dennis Bowyer), her brothers David (Sheryl) Wakefield and Paul (Mary) Wakefield, 5 Nieces, 4 Nephews, and multiple grand-nieces and nephews.
