Jay Stuart Brown

Jay Brown passed away on July 5, 2018 after a heroic battle with multiple health issues. The dates of his birth and death are insignificant to how he live his life; it is the “dash” between those dates that is important.

Jay will be remembered as a talented and passionate musician, a faithful friend, a beloved brother and son. Jay was authentic, caring, and quick to lighten the mood with humor.

He is survived by his brother, David and wife, Bonnie; his brother, Don; his sisters, JoAnn and Beverly and her husband, Darren.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.aaronsmortuary.com.

There was never a shortage of laughter when you visited Jay Brown (and JoAnn as well).. Spent a lot of time at the bars following the bands -- dancing, and laughing, and drinking -- travelling about with the pack. Spent a lot of time at our BIG job in life -- member of the music critics' round-table -- fueled by -- you guessed it -- booze, smokes, and more laughter. Jay was never negative and I don't remember him bad-mouthing anyone.
JoAnn - please take care of yourself. Give me a call and let me know how you are doing. 801-731-5200.
With love and sincere condolences, Lynnie Penrod

Went out for football with Jay in Jr. High.We wentto a concert at the Salt Palace in 9th grade. His mother took us down, mine picked us up. The band was "Led Zepplin"! I played music with Jay in our earlier years.Lived with Jay and Scott Craker in a home on Washington Blvd for a while. Allways liked Jay and his big smile. Enjoyed seeing him now and again and sharing our stories.Sorry to hear of his passing but glad I got to know him and his wonderful sister JoAnn. Condolences to all his family, wishing you all the best.

A few times in a lifetime you meet spirits that are authentic and special. To me, Jay was one of those spirits. His laugh was contagious and heartfelt, his sense of humor was second to none, and his music and stage presence was unique, original, and a wonderful experience. I hope we get to meet again Jay. You were always one of the Good Guys.

Although it's been 40 years since we lumped railroad cars together at (John Engulls), we were deeply saddened by Jays passing. He was a great friend and talented musician. We give our condolences to all his family especially JoAnn who was also a great friend.
