Jay Jose Amadeo Candelorio Cordova

July 11, 1931 — March 26, 2009

A tribute to a darling husband, wonderful father, and terrific grandfather. Jay passed peacefully at the home of his daughter and son-in-law Joleen and David Clifford. Lying next to him was his loving soul mate May of sixty years. He was surrounded by his supportive family as his daughter held his hand. Jay was a man of amazing strength, courage, morals, and unconditional love for his family and friends. He always thought of others first before himself, especially his loving wife. Our father gave generously to many charities such as the Heart Association, Alzheimers, Lung Cancer Awareness, and so forth. He knew how important those charities were because of the battles he and his wife have fought.

Our father treasured the quality of life, not the quantity. Most of all, he enjoyed the springtime and summer when he could spend his days fishing with his best friend Jay Allen, his sons, and grandsons. .

In the last ten months of his life he shared with us that he was most greatful for finding his path back to God. He was recently blessed by Father Eric of St. James Church and Father Cummings from Ogden Regional. He was also blessed by Reverend William Beard and Chaplain Peter of Applegate Homecare Hospice.

Dad is survived by his wife May N. Cordova, Ogden, UT., three sons; Tim J. Cordova, Roy, UT., Randy S. (Sandy) Cordova, Roy, UT., Rory C. Cordova Sr., Ogden, UT. two daughters; Debbie D. (Leo) Garcia, Layton, UT., Joleen (David) Johnson-Clifford, Ogden, UT., also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, and thirty-six great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, uncle Tom (Dorothy) Vigil, Albuquerque, NM., brothers; Dan (Theo) Cordova, ., sisters; Judy Jennings and Dorothy (Herman) Martinez all of Sparks, NV. and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Paul and Frances Vigil, Prefelia and Amarino Cordova, father Ben Amadeo Cordova, mother DeLiah Gomez, aunt Sophie Perez, sister Prisicilla Marie Cordova, great-granddaughter Alyiza Cordova, great-grandson Jay Jose Amadeo Candelorio Cordova Jr., uncle John and aunt Jane Vigil, and uncle Alex Vigil.

The Cordova family would also like to extend their appreciation and loving thoughts to the McKay-Dee Hospital staff, and the following people from Applegate Homecare, Dia
