Jay R. Thornton passed away from natural causes at the age of 90 on September 26, 2017 in Ogden, Utah. He was born February 15, 1927 in Portage, Utah to Dewy W. Thornton and Gladys Wolverton. Jay was raised in Ogden and attended Ogden City Schools and also attended Steven Heniger's College.
During WWII Jay served in the Navy aboard a ship in the Philippines and received an Honorable Discharge. He was a General Building Contractor and later in life dealt in antiques, mainly in U.S. Calvary an Railroad memorabilia.
Jay is survived by his wife of 68 years, Charlene; daughters, Susan Smith and Jean (Robert) Supp; son, Dan (Jennifer); granddaughters, Rebecca (Luis) Soto; Jennifer (Jon) Henry; and Kierstyn Howard.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two daughters, Rebeca and Debra.
