Jeffery Thomas Smith

Jeffery Thomas Smith, age 60, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, following a recent illness. He was born April 22, 1965, in Merced, California.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Dee Smith and Barbara Sue Malone, and also an infant sister, Monica Lynn Smith.

Jeff was married to Kristen Fowers on April 16, 1992. Together, they had four children whom he loved dearly. Jeff and Kristen later divorced. He was married to Susan Sexton on June 12, 2012. They later divorced.

Jeff leaves behind four children: Keilan (Lexie) Smith of Taylor; Kyren (Marian) Smith of West Haven; Darbie (Colton) Leatherow of Taylor; Koby (Jillian) Smith of Taylor, and eight grandchildren: Jaelyn, Briggs, Gracie, Roman, Beau, Bennett, Haven, and Cooper. He is survived by his sister, Renee (Ray) Cragun of Riverdale, and a brother, Mark (Teresa) Smith of South Ogden. He is also survived by his stepfather, Stanley Titus and stepsiblings: Greg (Ruth) Titus of Stoddard; Jeff (Tammy) Titus of Stoddard; Traci (Jeff) Snow of Draper.

Though he lived in many places during his childhood, he spent most of his life in northern Utah. He attended Roy High School, where he played football and was actively involved in the school choir and debate team, graduating in 1983. Friends remember Jeff for his incredible kindness, big personality, and quick wit.

At the time of his death, Jeff was working as a cashier at Charlie’s Chevron in South Ogden. His career included several government jobs, but he found the greatest satisfaction working in the service industry. Jeff was a true people person—he genuinely loved people, and people loved him.

Jeff was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he loved his Savior.

The family wishes to thank Dan Wood at Keystone Recovery and all the many friends who have supported Jeff there. In lieu of flowers, pay a kindness forward in memory of Jeff.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Riverdale at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Riverdale 1st Ward building at 1056 W 4400 S, Riverdale, UT on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 pm.
