Joseph David Anthony Valdez

Joe (Dave, JDA) Valdez, 79, of Albuquerque, NM passed away on April 25, 2025, with his son Jonathan by his side in Ogden, UT. Joe was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM where he met his treasured wife, Jean Carter. They married and raised their three children in Houston, TX.

Joe worked hard in many capacities to provide for his family. In his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his children and his grandchildren. He had a passion for serving his community and recently spent his time dedicated to genealogy and family history research. Joe had a generous and kind heart. He did not know a stranger. He cherished his relationships with others and always cared to check in on the many friends he made throughout the years.

Joe is survived by his sons Joseph Valdez (Mileny) and Jonathan Valdez (Shauna); his daughter Dinah Poland (Brendon); his grandchildren Joseph, Joshua, Alyssa, Ethan, and Lucas Valdez; Carter, Cooper, and Clara Poland; Luke Valdez; his sisters Rebecca Marlowe, Rosemary Maes(John), and Kelly Valdez-Ayres(Bob). He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean Valdez; his son Benjamin; his parents Joe L. and Rosemary Valdez; his sister Jeanette Valdez.

A private service will be held for the family at a later date.

Joe will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We take comfort in knowing he is at peace in God’s care.
