Julius J. Pratt

August 6, 1969 — September 19, 2023

Julius J. Pratt, nicknamed “Juju,” was born in Rochester, New York on August 6, 1969. He attended elementary, junior high, and high school in Rochester, New York.

Julius graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in Rochester, New York.

Growing up, Julius was very close to his mom, Margaret, who preceded him in death. Through his childhood, Julius loved fishing, often spending hours catching fish on the Gennessee River.  As a young adult, Julius made decisions he later regretted as he began to make course corrections in his life.

Julius was married and divorced, had seven children, and moved various places. Julius learned more about the Savior, and was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Julius loved the gospel and the members of his ward.  He also loved gospel music. He was a kind and good man who would “give the shirt off of his back” to others. Julius met and married LaShonda Katrice, the love of his life.

One of Julius’ happiest days was when he learned that LaShonda was expecting. Unfortunately, the baby was lost before birth.

Julius enjoyed helping others. When he was working at Hudson Printing in Salt Lake, a friend of his was looking for employment closer to home.  Julius helped his friend get a job at the printer so that he could work closer to home.  Julius liked action movies, Tyler Perry movies, and Friday night wrestling.  One of his favorite wrestlers was Roman Reigns.  Julius’ favorite color was red, and he loved coconut cake.

Julius loved his family very much.  He was employed at the George Wahlen Veteran’s home in the kitchen.  His co-workers loved him, and the residents adored him.

Julius is survived by his wife LaShonda Katrice Pratt, seven children. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
