Kathleen E Lucas

Kathleen E. Lucas, lovingly known as “Kathi,” passed away on April 9, 2026, in Murray, Utah, at the age of 72 due to health complications.

Kathi was born on June 3, 1953, in Provo, Utah, to William C. Lucas and Eloise Mae Murie Lucas. She was the second of three children and was raised in Orem, Utah, where she attended Geneva Elementary School, Orem Junior High, and Orem High School. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and sister Margaret Pauline Lucas Hernandez.

Kathi’s life was centered around her family, who meant everything to her. She is survived by her brother, Daniel B. (Dixie) Lucas; her nieces and nephews, Sabrina Lee (CJ) Alfred, William Shane (Brandee) Lucas, and Ashley Nicole Lucas (Ramiro) Villalpando; as well as many great and great-great nieces and nephews who brought her pride and joy. She also leaves behind her loyal and cherished companion, her sweet K-9, Miss T (“Miss Trouble”), who was always by her side.

Kathi had a special way of finding happiness in the simple things. She treasured her weekly shopping trips with her sister-in-law, where laughter and time spent together meant more than anything they could buy. She looked forward to her trips to Wendover and especially loved her Thanksgiving traditions in Las Vegas, where she enjoyed playing the slots—often with a little luck on her side and a smile on her face.

Her work was more than just a job—it was a true passion. Kathi dedicated many years to Jody Wilkinson Acura where her dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression. She took great pride in her work and remained committed until her retirement in 2018.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah. A viewing and gathering with family and friends will take place from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m., followed by memorial services at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow at Timpanogos Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1000 North 400 East, Orem, Utah.

Kathi’s presence will be deeply missed, but her love, laughter, and stubborn spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
