Kayla Vigil

Kayla Vigil passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Kayla was born on July 8, 1967, in Boise to Karen Homer and Olean Vanderhoof. At the age of 10, her family moved to Layton, where she later graduated from Layton High School. After high school, Kayla moved to Arizona and earned her degree from Mesa Community College in 1987.

Kayla met the love of her life, Jamie W. Vigil, and they were married on July 16, 1988, at the beautiful Eccles Art Center in Ogden. Together they built a life centered on faith, love, and an unwavering devotion to family.

She was a member of Alpine Church. Kayla was determined, driven, and successful in her professional life, serving as owner and president of Mall Marketing Media and CPS Group. She was respected and admired by her coworkers and formed many lasting friendships throughout her career.

Kayla had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and deeply loved. Her home was the heart of her family—a place where holidays were celebrated with joy, meals were prepared with love, and laughter filled every room. She cherished traditions, big family gatherings, and quiet one-on-one conversations alike. As a wife, mother, and grandmother, she was fiercely devoted and endlessly supportive. She celebrated every achievement, offered steady encouragement during challenges, and made each child and grandchild feel uniquely special.

Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Nothing brought her greater happiness than attending their activities, sharing stories, planning special outings, or simply holding them close. She poured her time, energy, and heart into her family, and they will forever carry forward her example of strength, generosity, and unconditional love.

Kayla loved cooking and hosting gatherings, creating memorable moments for family and friends. She had a deep appreciation for the arts and enjoyed attending performances at Ballet West. She also cherished the outdoors, spending many happy hours camping, golfing, and horseback riding with those she loved.

Above all else, Kayla’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Jamie; her children, Zachary (Kaitlin) Vigil, Nicholas (Savannah) Vigil, Freedom Vigil, Shayd Vigil, and Madeline (Kade) Hall; and eight beloved grandchildren, with one more on the way. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Mary Vigil; her siblings, Brett (Mo) Vanderhoof and Sabrina Kvavle; and many extended family members and dear friends.

Kayla was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Matthew Vanderhoof; her sister, Valerie Shumway; and her brother-in-law, Jeff Kvavle.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment will follow at the West Warren Cemetery.
