Kenneth Robert “Kenny” List, known affectionately by his grandchildren as “Gimpy”, passed away on December 15, 2025, in Ogden, Utah, at the age of 73. Born on August 28, 1952, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Ken lived a life marked by resilience, determination, and a deep appreciation for movement and independence. He left a lasting impression on all who knew and loved him.

From an early age, Ken developed a passion for physical activity that would become a defining part of his identity. Whether running through neighborhoods, cycling along scenic routes, or taking long walks, he embraced each day with energy and purpose. His dedication to fitness was unwavering—well into his 60s, he could be found logging miles on foot or bike with the same enthusiasm he had as a young man.

Ken also had a lifelong love for cars. He was especially known in his community for his cherished 76 Cadillac Fleetwood, plum-colored Chevy van—proudly labeled “Plum Crazy” which he maintained with meticulous care. When he wasn’t out exercising, he could often be found working on his car—polishing it to perfection or tending to its upkeep with pride and precision. Ken loved to travel in his vans and was always on the go, though never in a hurry to get anywhere. He enjoyed the journey as much as the destination, taking his time and embracing the freedom of the open road.

In his later years, Ken resided at Maple Springs Assisted Living in Brigham City, Utah. There, despite facing significant health challenges in his 70s that limited his mobility, Ken remained determined and spirited. He never took for granted the freedom of movement he once enjoyed and fought valiantly to maintain his independence. His strength of will and zest for life left a lasting impression on those around him.

Ken passed away surrounded by love and family. At his side were his children—Lana Sparks, Lindsey Smith, and Eddie List—as well as his two eldest grandchildren, Laila Mann and Julia List.

He is survived by his children; Lana Sparks (Cody Sparks) Eddie List (Macey List), Lindsey Smith. His sisters Joanne Scott and Cheryl Pernod; brothers Phillip List, Christopher List. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother Josephine List; parents Verna and Edward Robert List; brother(s) Charles List, Jeffrey List; and sister Joyce Nickle.

Ken’s legacy lives on through those who knew him best—his family members who stood by him through every chapter of life and the many friends he made along the way. His memory will be cherished by all who admired his tenacity and spirit.

May Kenneth Robert “Kenny” List be remembered for the strength with which he lived—and the love that surrounded him at life’s end.
