Listen to Obituary

Kristin (Kit) Wuebker Hatch, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, was finally reunited with her beloved son when she passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025, at 3:59 p.m., at the age of 79. Kristin was born on August 13, 1946, in Ogden, Utah, to Kathryn (Kae) and Alvin John (Bing) Wuebker.

She spent many years in Lake Tahoe, California, and often reminisced about her adventures as a blackjack dealer. On October 27, 1973, she married Patrick Hatch (later divorced), and exactly one year later, on October 27, 1974, they were blessed with their son, Alexander John Hatch.

Kit graduated from Weber State University in 1993 with a degree in Social Work. She spent many years at the Internal Revenue Service as a tax examiner, where she met many of her closest friends. She later retired to help care for her son in the years before his passing on November 22, 2017, from Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis.

Kit often said her greatest accomplishment was her son and her grandsons. After losing Alex, she did her best to keep going for her grandsons, but she was never truly whole again. She promised her son she would help ensure his boys - her grandchildren - were well cared for and loved. She did not pass until Kaden turned 18 and she knew they were all healthy and happy adults. She kept her promise and fulfilled her mission here on Earth as the best mom and grandma ever.

She will be remembered by those who loved her most for her unconditional love and kindness to all.

Kristin is survived by her daughter-in-law, Brandy Hatch; her three grandsons, Devon (Alisia) Patrick Hatch, Treyton (BreeAnna) Alexander Hatch, and Kaden John Hatch; and her great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Lilith, Knox, and Delilah. She is also survived by her brother, Micheal G. Wuebker of Ketchum, Idaho, and her sister, Janet Wuebker of Salt Lake City, Utah, along with numerous nieces and nephews who loved their aunt dearly.

Kristin was preceded in death by her purpose, her son, Alexander John Hatch; her beloved nephew, Zachary Stirdivant; her mother, Kathryn; her father, Alvin; her sister, Patrice; her brother, Jack; and her brother, Jerome (Jerry) Wuebker.

Kit’s life was deeply rooted in faith as a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ogden, Utah.
