Kyle Gene Garcia, born March 17, 1986, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on January 1st, 2026. Kyle was a triplet, sharing a bond like no other with his sisters, Karissa and Kaylee. At the age of four, Mandy welcomed her triplet siblings, and they became lifelong best friends. Kyle was born five weeks early, and as the true gentleman he was, he always let his sisters go first—protecting them in his own special way. Though born with a chromosomal abnormality and cerebral palsy, Kyle thrived. He wanted to keep up with his sisters, and they made sure he always could. Kyle is now reunited with his sister Mandy, who passed away 10 years ago from melanoma. It brings comfort to know they are together again—two beautiful souls reunited. Kyle was deeply loved by people who knew him. Being around Kyle changed the tone in the room. He noticed people. His joy was unmistakable, his reactions honest, and his presence memorable. You didn’t forget Kyle after meeting him- he stayed with you. Throughout his life, Kyle brought people together with his brilliant and positive aura. He loved everyone, and everyone loved him. He was always on the go and had a deep love for the simple joys of life. Some of Kyle’s favorite things included Wendover, parades, sleepovers, his birthday, swimming, shopping, Santa, eating, chick-flick movies, fireworks, barbecues at his sisters’ houses, bowling, camping, Skittles, collecting DVDs, Oreo McFlurries, and Special Olympics. Kyle attended school at Canyon View Elementary in Ogden and North Park Elementary in Roy where he was part of a wonderful special education program. When the time came to attend junior high, the siblings were thrilled to go to school together. Kyle excelled at Roy Junior High, where he proudly served as a class officer. On Monday mornings, Kyle could be heard over the intercom enthusiastically announcing, “Welcome back, Razorbacks!” He was loved, respected, and protected there—and later at Roy High School.
His contagious laugh, his joyful hallway hype chant of “Yayyy, it’s Friiiiday!”, his shoulder bounces, his school spirit, and his love and friendship for everyone made him unforgettable. Fridays will forever belong to Kyle. Kyle loved Special Olympics and was incredibly proud of the medals he earned in bocce ball, flag football, softball, basketball, cheer, bowling, swimming and pickle ball. Each medal represented his determination, courage, and joy. He adored his “special” friends and found belonging everywhere he went. Kyle was the biggest Utah Jazz fan, cheering them on no matter how the season was going—always loyal, always hopeful.
Family was everything to Kyle. His love for his mom was unmatched—always kissing her cheek or her hand, always telling her he loved her. Their bond was powerful, tender, and unmistakable, built on deep and constant love. She loved him with that same intensity, and their connection was truly beautiful to witness. Kyle was also deeply loved by his dad, who stood by him with steady support and quiet strength. Together, his mom and dad were an incredible team—united in their care, commitment, and unwavering love for Kyle and their family. Kyle’s devoted love for his mom, dad, and sisters Mandy, Kaylee, and Karissa was a gift to witness. He adored his family, but to Kyle, everyone else was extended family too. When Kyle found out he was going to be an uncle, he smiled and said something the family will always cherish: “I’m so proud of myself.” And we are so proud of you too, buddy.
Our family was deeply blessed to find Kyle’s group home. The staff went above and beyond to ensure Kyle was living his very best life, far exceeding all expectations. Kyle loved his four roommates—Jake, Jared, Inwoo and Rick—and his caretakers were attentive, compassionate, and deeply loving to all his needs. We couldn’t have asked for a better home. The fact that he was only 17 minutes away from family made it truly perfect. Special thanks to the incredible staff who became like family to Kyle: Nellie, Mary, Ray, Michelle, Amanda, Mindy, Krista, Tara, Tracy, Alex, Bernie, Kylie, Nicole, Bailey, Destiney, Brian, Jess, and JaNelle.
He was employed at Enable Industries. He loved his job and all of the people he worked with.
Kyle had an extraordinary ability to remain positive, even in the hardest moments. He passed away from heart failure- a diagnosis the family did not learn about until mid-November. Through it all, Kyle was incredibly brave. When asked how he was feeling, even when he wasn’t well, his answer was almost always, “I’m good,” or “I’m amazing" accompanied by a thumbs up.
We also want to thank the Doctors, nurses and staff who took care of Kyle at McKay Dee and at IMC Murray. They took great care of Kyle with tenderness that brought tears to our eyes.
Because he was so deeply loved, Kyle was given a Christmas unlike any other—exactly what his family hoped for. He met Santa, The Grinch, sang with carolers, rode on a bus with his family to see Christmas lights while listening to Christmas music, and soaked in every joyful moment. When Santa gently said, “I hear you’ve had a rough time lately,” Kyle smiled and replied, “No I haven’t.” That was Kyle—pure joy, innocence and unwavering optimism.
When Kyle was placed on hospice care, he didn’t fully understand what it meant. He was simply happy to be going home. His lack of fear gave his family the strength to be brave for him. His innocence was a gift that carried them through the hardest days.
In honor of Kyle, please pay it forward with an Oreo McFlurry, be kind to your neighbors, donate to your local WSU Special Olympics organization, kiss your mama’s cheek, and throw your bowling ball granny-style. Kyle… we love you so damn much. He will be missed more than words can express and remembered in every Friday cheer, every bowling lane, every Jazz game, every McFlurry, and every moment of simple, honest joy.
Kyle was preceded in death by his sister Mandy Garcia Gaston, Grandmother Carolyn Cromwell, and Grand Parents Gene and Beverly Garcia. Left behind to keep his memory alive are his parents Troy and Shaundra (Cromwell) Garcia, his triplet sisters Karissa (Derek) Delgado and Kaylee (Carl) Gonzales. His very beloved nieces and nephews Kyler (Sierra), Korbin, Izaiah, Mila, Monroe, Ivy and Indi. His best friend and Grandpa Ken (Penney) Cromwell. His Aunts and Uncles Dennis & Cathy, John & Carrie, Carol & Steve, Anna, Steve & Jacqui and Dave & Michelle.
We can’t thank you enough for all your efforts in supporting our family. You held us up during this very difficult time. The special Christmas, the many meals that were dropped off, Christmas cards & gifts, prayers, texts and calls were so very much appreciated. We couldn’t have made it without you.
Please join us for a Celebration on Kyle’s favorite day of the week.
