Laura Lee Jones

March 30, 1962 — September 27, 2019

It is with deep sadness that we announce Laura Lee Jones, age 57, passed away on Friday Sep. 27, 2019, after a brief illness.  She was born and raised in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Mr Richard L. Jones Sr. and wife Darla on Mar. 30, 1962.

She was married to Tyler J. Burris (and later divorced) and had two children Amanda Lynn Thompson  and Darwin Tyler Burris.

She was very talented and worked as a cake decorator for Walmart for 18 years, where she also developed many life long friendships. Laura was such a kind, giving and beautiful woman. It is a huge loss for her family and everyone who knew her.

Laura had a love as deep as the ocean for the California beaches and a will for adventure as strong as the tides. She had many adventures with her siblings and friends in California that she cherished. She was as strong as the crystals she collected and admired. The compassion she had for the people around her and animals knew no bounds.
She was a hip, playful grandmother, that was very involved in the lives of her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching them in any activities they participated in. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family.

Laura is survived by her children, Amanda Lynn Thompson (Trent) of Roy and Darwin Burris of West Point;  three siblings: Richard L. Jones Jr. of Ogden  Steven E. Jones, and Marla E. Jones of Citrus Heights, California; and five grandchildren that she couldn't have been more proud of: Dakota, Jordyn, Korben, Samantha and Siddalee.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Paul Ryan Jones. A memorial and graveside service will be held in the near future.
