Lonnie David Austin, born July 12, 1971, in Libertyville, Illinois, passed away on October 14, 2025, in Ogden, Utah at the age of 54.
Lonnie was known for his deep compassion and generosity. Always willing to lend a hand—even at personal cost—he quietly supported those around him and extended kindness to those less fortunate. His selflessness left a lasting impression on many.
He married Christy Weglarz, with whom he had two sons, Luke and Dylan. He also had a son, Landon Austin, with Christie Vickery. Lonnie took great pride in his children and the family he built.
A man of many interests, Lonnie had a passion for music and enjoyed rebuilding speakers—a hobby that showcased both his creativity and technical skill. He also found joy in football and fishing, pursuits that brought him peace and connection.
Lonnie is survived by his sister Sharon Salisbury and brother Mickey Austin. He was preceded in death by his mother Jaclyn Deyo; father Ray Grubbs; sister Cynthia Cravens; and brothers Thomas Chester Sitarz and Tony Lane Sitarz.
A heartfelt acknowledgment is extended to Linda Knowles for her steadfast friendship and care over the past 22 years. Her support—managing finances, arranging medical care, coordinating transportation, and securing housing—brought stability and comfort to Lonnie’s life.
He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember him fondly.
