Listen to Obituary

Marilyn Marie Hamblin passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and devotion to family.

Born in Salt Lake City on March 2, 1948, to her parents, Morris and Nedra Mohler. Though she was an only child, she had many fond memories with her cousins in Nephi. She was a proud graduate of Bonneville High School and later studied at Weber State. Marilyn dedicated many years of hard work to the IRS, a career she took great pride in until her retirement this past year.

Marilyn married Royal Lynn Hamblin, and together they built a life centered on their four children: Casey, Cody, Corine, and Richard (Corky). Marilyn's children and grandchildren meant the world to her, and the family shared many fond memories of camping, and road trips together. Marilyn was preceded in death by Lynn; her children, Casey and Corine; and her grandson, Jeramiah. She is survived by her children: Cody (Collin) Steadman, Richard (Hailey) Hamblin, and a son-in-law Josh Kindall. We will all carry her memory forward.

While she enjoyed her hobbies and friends, Marilyn’s favorite role was undoubtedly that of a grandmother. Known affectionately as "Grammy," she treasured her 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was famous for bringing a Halloween spirit into our lives all year long, ensuring that every day felt a little more magical. A dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Marilyn found great peace in the teachings of the eternal family and the hope of being reunited with those she loved.

Marilyn was a woman of many talents. Her deep passion for crafts led her to own and operate a ceramics shop for over five years, a creative outlet that defined much of her life alongside her love for sewing. She loved a good sugar cookie and a fresh Sprite. Those who knew her well will always associate her with a lifelong Halloween obsession as well as her collection of Mickey Mouse and Coca-Cola memorabilia. She enjoyed going to the rodeo and never missed the Ute Stampede in Nephi. Marilyn had a soft spot for her furry friends, most notably her dogs, PJ and Tipper, who held a special place in her heart.
