Obituary
Melba Louise Lucas died on September 6, 2022 at her home in Ogden Utah. In her own words she said she “died of old age, hopefully.”
Melba Louise Lucas was born August 21, 1930 at Marion, Illinois. She was the daughter of Troy Melvin Hesaker and Charity Loveless. She married Stanley Edward Lucas, Sr. on February 8, 1948, in Marion Illinois. He died June 9, 1999 in Ogden Utah. Throughout their marriage, they lived in several states and countries. She was a convert to the LDS church and held many church positions, including positions Relief Society and Primary. She said Primary was her favorite.
Melba volunteered at McKay Dee Hospital, Eccles Art Center, Special Needs Primary, Horace Elementary School and the Ogden Regional Family History Library. She worked for the IRS for many years and stayed with them until she retired.
Her children are Stanley Edward Lucas Jr., David Wayne Lucas (Wife Debbie), and Joyce Ann Lucas Harpool (Husband Dennis). She was blessed with a “plethora” of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 11 AM, at Aaron’s Mortuary - 496 24th St Ogden, UT 84401. The viewing will be held at the same location just prior to the service from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM. She will be buried beside her husband, at Ogden City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to St Jude’s Children Hospital
